Privacy Policy

Effective date:

Overview

VoltTray does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.

This policy explains how VoltTray (v1.0.0 and later versions) handles data. It applies to all VoltTray users and is effective as of 2026-11-01.

Data We Do Not Collect

VoltTray has no network telemetry, no analytics, no account system, and no advertising SDK.

VoltTray does not upload any device information, battery data, or usage data.

Data Processed by the App (Local Only)

VoltTray reads the battery level of Bluetooth and USB HID devices on your machine.

This reading is performed locally through system APIs provided by the operating system (BLE GATT / HID). The data never leaves your device.

Local Storage

VoltTray stores a single small JSON file on your machine to remember which low-battery alerts have been sent, preventing duplicate notifications.

Devices are identified by a one-way hashed ID (8 hexadecimal characters). The file never stores raw device IDs or device names, and it stores no battery history.

You can remove the file by uninstalling the app or delete it manually at any time. Deleting it has no side effects; the next low-battery alert will simply fire again.

First-Run Network Access

When an MSIX-packaged app starts for the first time, Windows may download the WebView2 runtime over the network.

This is behavior of the operating system and packaging framework, unrelated to the app's data handling. VoltTray itself makes no network requests.

Permissions

VoltTray only requests basic system permissions.

Bluetooth access is controlled by Windows system prompts. The app requests no location permission and performs no background network activity.

Third-Party Sharing

VoltTray does not share, sell, or transmit data to any third party.

The app contains no third-party SDKs.

Your Rights

You can uninstall VoltTray at any time; uninstalling removes all local data the app has created.

VoltTray has no account system, so there is nothing to sign out of or delete.

Children's Privacy

VoltTray does not collect any data from children.

In fact, VoltTray does not collect any user data at all.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will publish the update on this page and revise the effective date.
